Suicide blast in Islamabad kills 1, injures several others

One security guard was killed while several others hurt when a suicide blast took place near a private bank situated here in sector I-8 on Monday, police said.
According to details, a suicide bomber tried to enter in the bank while the guard of the bank foiled his attempt.
After failing to enter in the bank, the bomber blew himself up.
As a result, the security guard died on the spot while several others were injured.
After the incident, law enforcement agencies and rescue teams reached on the spot and shifted the injured to hospitals.
According to Rescue sources, four injured were shifted to PIMS hospital.
After the incident, SSP Tahir Alam and other senior security officials also reached on the scene and started to supervise the rescue efforts and investigation at the blast site.
SSP Tahir confirmed that it was a suicide attack and suicide bomber's head has been recovered.
IG Wajid Durrani said in his brief talks with media that the suicide bomber was killed and a security guard was martyred while two other persons sustained injuries in the blast.
A tussle took place between the security men and media men as security men were not allowing any journalist to get near to the blast site to gather information.
The age of the bomber was stated between 18 to 25.
Police and other law security agencies have cordoned off the area and started search operation.
